For a series of books by a publishing client, I was asked to create color
backdrops for the boxes where the students are to fill in written answers.
Here are two examples.

I’m designing the visual identity of a medical research organization, and it’s been so fascinating. For their logo, I first worked up a page of many different ideas. (They weren’t sure whether they wanted to use the full name or initials.)

Their team was torn between the sans-serif “mc” and the solo molecule. They ultimately went with the molecule, so I fleshed that one out in various ways.

Stay tuned for the conclusion!
(By the way, the client did give the OK to share the in-progress work.)

Between projects for clients, I've been working on an animated music video for my children’s song “My Other Shoe Has Run Away.” Here are a few frames from the work-in-progress. Backgrounds are temporary; final backgrounds will be made in Photoshop after I complete the character designs in Flash.

The story follows the Shoe character as it has all kinds of hypothetical adventures around the world. The girl imagines all this as she frantically searches for it so she can go to the toy store with Dad, who waits patiently at the door.

I love coasters as a decorative and useful home accessory. But I’m very, very particular about them. So, I made my own.

I loved as a child. Here is the first finished image.

Buy new toys? Ha! My 3-year-old wanted to play “cashier,” so we made a cash register out of cardboard boxes and paint.

I’m starting a new series of kids’ free coloring pages. I’ll add pages whenever I feel inspired or have a break in a project. Here are three to start with; they illustrate traditional nursery rhymes. Download, print, and color!
